A Quilting Retreat
Would you believe that Nancy and I have never gone on a quilt retreat? I know that many of you go on retreats--we've heard all of the fun stories. We know you go again and again, so it must be fun. Well, this is our first. We won't be teaching, just participating. Will we bring enough projects? What if we forget something important? I've been trying to organize my projects today. Of course that was after I finished my mystery quilt which I can't bring with me! I'm bringing parts to make a 7 sisters quilt using the Marti Michell templates, the next project for Scrap Tamers and some parts for the Scrap Tamers mystery quilt. I might get together some half-square triangle paper piecing for a quilt I've always wanted to make--one by From My Heart to Your Hands. Don't quite have it pulled together, but might get some of it organized. Is that enough? I might spend some time on a nature walk--I've heard that the Lanesborough area is beautiful. I've also heard you can get a massage. Now that would be fun. And I've got a new book I'm reading. Oh, and handwork on the binding for the Twin Cities Shop Hop Quilt--may pass it around for anyone wishing to put their feet up and do some handwork. Am I ready????? Did I forget anything???? I'll let you know how it went. Please respond with any tips you have.

Twin Cities Shop Hop
Thanks to all of you quilters who made the shop hop a fun event. It was fun to see so many friends coming in and having a good time. Hope you enjoyed the special exhibit of Annemarie's Quilts Remembered miniature quilts. The quilts will be on display until May 9 so if you missed it, there is still time to come see them.
The shop owners will all be gathering tonight to pick the winners of the drawings. We wish the best luck to all of you. Too bad you can't all win!

We have our folders stuffed with all the information you need to start the hop, our sample made, kits ready, new samples hanging, door prizes ready and the shop all spiffed up. All 10 shops are ready for 3 days of fun. Its been great getting to know the other shop owners and working together for this fun event. We are giving away 4 sewing machines, a bundle including a $50 gift certificate from each shop and each shop will have it's own selected prize worth $200. Ours includes a kit to make the Forever Friends quilt. I love that quilt!

Twin Cities Shop Hop

The Twin Cities Shop Hop runs next week from April 29-May 1. Fun, fun, fun! Visit all 10 shops to be eligible for the great prizes. Each shop will be giving out a pattern for a 9" quilt block. You need to go to all 10 shops to receive the block patterns. This year each shop has designed it's own quilt with those 10 blocks. Not only that--each has made the quilt with it's own selection of fabrics. This is our quilt. It's called Salt Water Taffy and was designed by Amy Miller, one of our staff members. We think she made a wonderful quilt. We have a poster showing the quilts from each of the different shops. You can see the poster at our shop or if you are a member of Facebook, you can see it on the Twin Cities shop hop facebook page. Each shop hop participant will receive a coupon for one free layout. If you love more than one, you can purchase others. We hope to see you during the Twin Cities Shop Hop. It's a fun event with great prizes, displays and demos. Hope you can join in the fun.
Susan
